It’s probably not uncommon for you to take a shower or go swimming with it still on your wrist. While your Fitbit is water resistant, that doesn’t mean it’s waterproof.
If you want to keep your Fitbit in good condition, you need to know how to clean it properly. In this blog post, I’m going to show you how to clean your Fitbit and some of the best ways to clean it. So, whether your Fitbit is dirty from a workout or just needs a good cleaning, keep reading.
Your Fitbit needs to be cleaned about once a week, but you may need to clean it more often if you sweat a lot or if you live in a dusty environment. To clean your Fitbit, you’ll need:
- A Microfiber Cloth
- Water
- Mild soap (optional)
To start, wet the soft cloth with water and gently wipe down your Fitbit. If there’s any built-up dirt or sweat on your Fitbit, you can add a drop of mild soap to the cloth and continue wiping. Once you’re done, dry your Fitbit off with the cloth. You can also use a cotton swab dampened with water to clean hard-to-reach areas like the sensors or buttons.
It’s important to note that you should never use harsh cleaners, abrasive materials, or sharp objects on your Fitbit. Also, avoid getting any water in the charging port or speaker as this can damage your device.
If you want to give your Fitbit a deeper clean, you can remove the band and hand-wash it with soap and water. Just make sure the band is completely dry before you put it back on your Fitbit.
Cleaning Your Fitbit Charger
Your Fitbit charger also needs to be cleaned from time to time. To clean your charger, unplug it from the power source and wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth. If there’s any built-up dirt or lint, you can use a cotton swab to remove it.
Avoid getting any water on the charging ports or prongs as this can damage your charger. If your charger is damaged, it won’t be able to properly charge your Fitbit.
When you’re done cleaning your charger, plug it back into the power source and wait a few minutes for it to completely dry before attaching your Fitbit.
Cleaning Your Fitbit Wristband
If you have a leather or metal wristband, you can clean it with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid getting any water on the band as this can damage it. You can also use a toothbrush with soft bristles to gently scrub away any dirt or sweat.
If you have a fabric wristband, you can hand-wash it with soap and water. Just make sure the band is completely dry before you put it back on your Fitbit.
Cleaning Your Fitbit Tracker
To clean your Fitbit tracker, remove it from the wristband and wipe it down with a soft cloth dampened with water. If there’s any built-up dirt or sweat, you can add a drop of mild soap to the cloth and continue wiping.
Once you’re done, dry your tracker off with a cloth. You can also use a cotton swab dampened with water to clean hard-to-reach areas like the sensors or buttons.
