Laptops are one of the most popular devices when it comes to staying connected to the internet. However, there are times when laptops will disconnect from WiFi for no reason. This can be very frustrating, especially if you need to stay connected for work or school.

But don’t worry, there are ways that you can fix this issue. In this blog post, we will be discussing some of the methods that you can use to fix a laptop that keeps disconnecting from WiFi.

So, without further ado, let’s get started.

    Reasons:

First, you will need to identify the reason why your laptop is disconnecting from WiFi. There are a few reasons why this can happen:

    1. The WiFi connection is weak.
    2. The laptop is too far away from the router.
    3. There is something interfering with the WiFi signal (e.g., a microwave oven).
    4. The WiFi driver is outdated or corrupt.
    5. The power-saving mode is enabled on the laptop.

Once you have identified the reason why your laptop keeps disconnecting from WiFi, you can follow the methods below to fix the issue.

6 Ways to Fix “Laptop Keeps Disconnecting From WiFi”

There are several ways to try and fix the issue. In this section, we will outline some of the most common solutions.

Restart your computer and network devices

This is the first thing that you should do when your laptop keeps disconnecting from WiFi. Just restart your computer and all the network devices (e.g., router, modem, etc.) that are involved in the connection.

This will help to reset the connection and hopefully fix any issues.

Check if the WiFi connection is weak

If your laptop keeps disconnecting from WiFi because the connection is weak, then you can try moving closer to the router or using a WiFi extender.

By doing this, you will be able to get a stronger signal and stay connected.

    Update the WiFi driver

If the issue is caused by an outdated or corrupt WiFi driver, then you will need to update it.

To do this, you can go to the manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver for your laptop.

    Disable power-saving mode

If power saving mode is enabled on your laptop, then it will disconnect from WiFi when it is not in use.

To fix this, you can go to Settings and disable Power saving mode.

    Change Scan Valid Interval

This option is available in the WiFi settings and what it does is set the time between scans for valid networks. By changing this setting, you can fix the issue of your laptop.

    Disable Wi-Fi Sense Feature

This feature is available in Windows 10 and what it does is share your WiFi passwords with your contacts. If you don’t want to use this feature, then you can disable it by going to the Settings.

We hope that this blog post has helped you to fix a laptop that keeps disconnecting from WiFi. If you have any other questions or suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment below. Thanks for reading.
