Summer is a great time to get active and enjoy the outdoors, and indeed a good means for people to use their fitness trackers to monitor their activity.

However, during this time there is also a risk of overheating your Fitbit if you’re not careful. That’s why it’s important to be prepared if your Fitbit overheats while you’re wearing it.

In this blog post, we’ll outline some tips on how to deal with this situation, so you can stay cool, calm, and collected.

So keep on reading to get more information.

    Can A Fitbit Overheat?

Yes, if your Fitbit starts to overheat, there are a few things you can try in order to resolve the issue.

First of all, try disconnecting any other Bluetooth devices that you might have paired with your Fitbit. If that doesn’t work, try closing out the Fitbit app on your phone.

If the overheating persists, you might need to unpair your Fitbit and then pair it again. In some cases, you might even need to reformat the drive. Of course, sometimes simply restarting the Fitbit can resolve problems that might cause overheating.

If none of these solutions work, then you should contact customer support for further assistance.

What Happens if Fitbit Gets too Hot?

If your Fitbit gets too hot, you might experience skin irritation. In extreme cases, you may even get burns. That’s because the tracker has a lithium-ion battery that can overheat and catch fire. Fitbit has received dozens of reports of the watch overheating and causing burn injuries.

If you experience skin irritation or burns, you should stop using the watch and contact Fitbit for a refund. In the meantime, it’s probably best to avoid wearing your Fitbit in hot weather or while working out. And if you do, make sure to keep an eye on it for any signs of overheating.

    Can Heat Ruin a Fitbit?

Like all electronic devices, Fitbits are vulnerable to damage from extreme temperatures. While the company claims that its devices can withstand temperatures ranging from 14° to 113° F (−10° to 45° C), it is still best to avoid exposing your Fitbit to extreme cold or heat.

Exposure to extreme temperatures can cause the battery to fail, the screen to crack, or other components to break down. As a result, keep your Fitbit out of extreme temperatures.

How Do I Get My Fitbit to Work Again?

If your Fitbit is unresponsive or isn’t working as expected, you may be able to fix the problem with a restart. To restart your device:

    • Connect your device to the charging cable.
    • Press and hold the buttons on your tracker for 10 seconds.
    • Release the buttons.

If your Fitbit still isn’t working after restarting, you may need to reset it. A reset deletes all stored data on your device. To reset your Fitbit:

    • Connect your device to the charging cable.
    • Press and hold the buttons on your tracker for 20 seconds.
    • Release the buttons. Your Fitbit will restart and a smiley face icon will appear on the screen to indicate that it’s been reset successfully.

If you’re still having trouble, you can contact customer support for more help.
