Millions of people around the world use Fitbits to track their daily physical activity. However, many users have found that their Fitbit reports that they have swum even when they have done no such thing. This has caused general confusion and frustration among users of the device.

In this article, we will explore some possible reasons why this might be happening, and offer some suggestions on how to fix it.

Have you ever gone to bed after a long day only to be woken up by a notification from your Fitbit telling you that you’ve completed a swim? If so, you’re not alone.

While Fitbit is designed to track a variety of activities, it sometimes makes mistakes and records the wrong activity. For example, if you work in an office and are constantly moving around, your Fitbit might think you’re swimming. To fix this, we have mentioned four ways below.

How to Fix “Why Does My Fitbit Think I’m Swimming” Issue?

Since a lot of users have reported this issue already, that is why there are different fixes available to help you get rid of this problem. In this section, we have added a few solutions so that you can avoid this issue in the future.

    Exit Swim Mode

To exit swim mode on your Fitbit, double-click the side button. This will take you back to the main screen, where you can see your progress for the day.

If you’re still seeing the swim icon, tap on it and then select the exit option. This will ensure that your Fitbit is no longer tracking your swimming progress.

    Turn Off Auto-Recognize

If you don’t want your Fitbit to automatically track your swimming progress, you can turn off the auto-recognize feature. To do this, go to the exercise tab and select the gear icon. This will take you to the settings menu, where you can turn off the auto-recognize feature.

After doing this, your Fitbit will no longer track your swimming progress unless you manually start the activity tracker.

Toggle Swim Mode Off in Settings:

If the problem persists, you can try toggling the swim mode off in the settings menu. To do this, go to the exercise tab and select the gear icon. This will take you to the settings menu, where you can toggle the swim mode off.

After doing this, your Fitbit will no longer track your swimming progress.

    A Factory Reset Might Help:

If you’ve tried all of the above solutions and are still having problems, you might need to factory reset your Fitbit. This will reset your device to its default settings and may fix the problem.

To factory reset your Fitbit, go to the settings menu and select the option to reset your device. This will erase all of your data, so make sure to back up your information before proceeding.

    Conclusion:

We hope this article helped you solve the problem of Fitbit thinking you’re swimming when you’re not. If you have any other questions or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment below.
