Do you have a Fitbit? If so, have you ever wondered if the number of Fitbit Floors Climbed is accurate? A recent study claims that it’s not. But don’t worry, Fitbit has already fixed the issue! Keep reading to find out more.

If your Fitbit isn’t accurate when it comes to tracking the number of floors you’ve climbed, there are a few things you can do to try to improve its accuracy.

7 Ways to Fix Fitbit Floors Climbed not Accurate Issue

Make Sure The Device is Properly Calibrated

If your Fitbit device isn’t properly calibrated, it may result in a miscalculation of floors climbed. In order to ensure that your device is properly calibrated, you can follow the steps mentioned below:

Go to the Fitbit app and then tap on the Today tab > your profile picture > Advanced Settings.

Now, under the Floor Ascent section, check if Auto Calibrate Floor Climb is turned off or not. If yes, then turn it on and then sync your device.

Once done, try to monitor your floor climbed data and see if it is accurate or not.

Check If You’re Wearing The Device Properly

Another reason behind the Fitbit Floors climbed not accurate issue could be that you’re not wearing the device properly. In order to get accurate data, it is important that you wear your Fitbit device properly.

The best way to wear your Fitbit device is by clipping it onto your pants or shirt pocket. If you’re wearing it on your wrist, then make sure that the tracker is placed above your wrist bone and a little loose so that it doesn’t move around a lot.

Check If You Have Multiple Floor-tracking Devices

If you have multiple floor-tracking devices, then there are chances that the data from both the devices might get synced to your account which can lead to incorrect data.

In order to fix this issue, you can go to the Fitbit app and then tap on the Today tab > your Profile Picture. Now, scroll down and see all the devices that are listed under the Linked Devices section.

If there are multiple floor-tracking devices, then tap on the device which you want to unlink and then select the Unlink This Device option. Once done, try checking your floor climbed data and see if it is accurate or not.

Check If You Have Used The Exercise Mode While Climbing Stairs

If you have used the exercise mode while climbing stairs, then it might interfere with the Floors climbed feature and might result in inaccurate data.

In order to fix this issue, you can go to the Fitbit app and then tap on the Today tab > your profile picture. Now, scroll down and tap on the Exercise tile.

Once you’re in the exercise mode, check if the Floors climbed option is turned on or not. If yes, then turn it off and then try checking your floor climbed data.

These are some of the methods that you can use to fix the Fitbit not counting floors issue. Try these methods and see which one works for you.

    Try Restarting Your Device

If none of the methods mentioned above work for you, then the last thing that you can try is restarting your device. For restarting Fitbit Charge 3, you can follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press and hold the button on your tracker for about 4 seconds.
    2. You will see the screen loading followed by a Fitbit logo.

Once your device restarts, try checking your floor climbed data and see if it is accurate or not.

    Wear it Correctly

You should also make sure that you are wearing your Fitbit correctly. The device should be worn snugly, but not too tightly, on your non-dominant wrist. The tracker should be level with your wrist bone. If you are wearing the device too loose or too tight, it can cause inaccurate readings.

    Replace the Battery

Finally, if you are still having trouble with your Fitbit’s accuracy, you may need to replace the battery. Over time, batteries can die and this can cause all sorts of problems with a device, including accuracy issues.

    Conclusion

These are some of the methods that you can use to fix the Fitbit Floors climbed not accurate issue. Try these methods and see which one works for you.
